Supervisory Social Worker

Summary This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Fort Peck Agency in Poplar, Montana.
The position will supervise, direct, administer in providing social protective and counseling services to children/families involved with dependency, neglect and/or abandonment.
This position is OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
Responsibilities Administer, manage, plan, develop and evaluate the Social Welfare program.
Supervise, direct child/adult protection and provide welfare services.
Administer, supervise the management of the General Assistance program and client Indian Individual Money (IIM) accounts.
Coordinate with state and tribal courts, law enforcement, social service agencies, health programs, mental health services, schools and the Executive and Legislative branches of the Tribal Government.
Administer, direct in providing counseling to children, adults, and families to address problems that are preventing the development of healthy families.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position is OPEN UNTIL FILLED and may be extended or closed prior to the current closing date.
Applications will be reviewed every two weeks; the first cut-off date for applications is 10 business days from the opening date and every two weeks thereafter.

Individual Occupational Requirement/Basic Requirement Degree:
Social Work.
Must fulfill all the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Counsel on Social Work Education.

For GS-12 grade level:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-11; or its non- federal equivalent that demonstrates ability in supervising, planning, developing, and executing a Human Services Program which includes a General Assistance Program providing financial assistance and counseling to reservation residents; a Child Welfare Program providing direct financial assistance to Indian children requiring foster or institutional care, protective and social casework sources to children, foster parents, and natural parents; casework services to families and individuals providing counseling and consultation on social problems, income planning, consultation and technical advice to adult and juvenile tribal courts, tribal officials and committees.
All qualification requirements must be met by the date your application is received.
Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the date your application is received.
Recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized for highly qualified applicants.
A service agreement will be required.
Student Loan Repayment may be authorized.

If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education which shows the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.

education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.
S.
accredited college or university.

Additional Information This postilion is at the full performance level off a GS-12.
This is a supervisory position.
Under provision of the Civil Service Reform Act, first-time supervisors are required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period before their appointment becomes final.
Those who do not satisfactorily complete this probationary period will be returned to positions of no lower grade and pay than those they occupied before assuming their supervisory assignment.
